Tabbed Microsoft Word (Excel, PowerPoint)

 

Browser such as Firefox or Chrome or Microsoft Edge allow user to have tabbed view so that different webpages can be manage in one single app window. It help user to easily navigate multiple site without extra effort in call up different window view.

For Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint, too bad they does not have this tabbed view feature. However there are a small trick that can enable this easy switching between files. The steps are all the same for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, however the guides below will using Word as example.

Step 1. Go to the Customize Quick Access Toolbar that located at the top right corner (the small downward arrow). Click on it and go to More Commands.

Step 2. On the pop-up Word Options window, choose the View Tab from the dropdown selection list.

Step 3. Scroll down and find the Switch Windows, select it.

Step 4. Click Add>> to move the selection to the right column. Then click OK.

Step 5. Done! You may now easily switch between different files from the top access toolbar that mimic “tab view”-like selection.
